A Song I Wrote “Petal”
I wanted to share a song that I wrote about a little girl that crossed paths with me not too long ago. I was on the train taking a ride to work and i noticed a drunken man, so out of it that he could hardly stand up on his own two feet. Next to him, holding his hand stood a little angel, his daughter which probably would have been around 5 years of age. I wont say more, the song will express what i went through that day. All I hope is for that little girl to be safe and in good hands now.
The song is called “Petal”…
Verse 1.
She hold him up with her small hands
keeps her head up while he can barely stand
Her golden hair curls down over her soar eyes
“we’re nearly there daddy”
she says with a voice soaked in lies
Chorus
Like a Petal from a white rose
she’s falling and no one knows
Her pain races right through me
I’m drowning in her tears
I can be her distraction
I can take her outside
But I’m just another passenger
On this train ride
Verse 2.
Angel he doesn’t weigh you down
he crawls out for solid ground
yet you surround him
I know its a cold room
cause my bones shiver with you
but this is what you know
And somehow this twister has got you comfortable
Chorus.
Like a Petal from a white rose
she’s falling and no one knows
Her pain races right through me
I’m drowning in her tears
I could hand you my smile
and light up your sight
but I’m just another passenger on this train ride
Bridge.
I looked out the window
carried on like the rest
my mind drifted you away
and wished u all the best
Chorus.
Like a Petal from a white rose
she’s falling and no one knows
Her pain races right through me
I’m drowning in her tears
I actually recorded this song, I featured a fantastic singer named Tanika Turner to express the song. You can listen to it on www.myspace.com/studio2628
